After a good rest and a perfect breakfast, we departed at half past eight.
We were being waved by the boarding-house keeper.
After half an hour we arrived at the Hungarian-Romanian border. To our
surprise we had to pay 5 DM to have our car be disinfected. Even here we
were confronted with the foot and mouth disease. After some
formalities and controls we could cross the border without hardly any
problems. Since January 1, inhabitants of the European Community can
travel to Romanian without buying a visa. For Coby, coming from Canada,
this rule did not apply. So she is the only one who could be pleased with
an extra stamp in her passport.
After a relaxing journey, some tourist stops and after a lunch on a
Dutch (!) camping site, we reached our aim at 5 PM: Cristesti. Here a
delegation of the congregation were waiting for us. We received several
snacks and drinks.
Here we also were introduced to our host families. At around 7 PM we
departed, everybody going to his own host family. There an enormous
diner was waiting.
