Sunday April 22 - day 4

Hereby we send the first update from Cristesti. We are glad for having the possibility to use the modem at the Tövissi family for making an internet connection. The possibilities of modern technology are very comfortable in this kind of circumstances.
Because of three weddings, held in Cristesti yesterday, several members of the congregation were not able to meet us yesterday. Therefore we were requested to meet in the community house, first thing this morning. Here the opportunity was created for the members to meet the Ede group.

For Dutch visitors there's always coffee

To our surprise the room was completely crowded. The vicar's wife already was playing the organ. It seemed to be a church service. This figured to be correct: we attended our first service this morning. Previous years, in Cristesti, two sermons were held: one in the morning in the church itself. The second one in the afternoon, in the community house, so also people who cannot walk that far were able to join the service. After the current vicar came to Cristesti one and half year ago, he directly started with an extra service in the morning, held in the community house. That is were we where now. After the service indeed the possibility was here to meet each other and shake hands. Afterwards we got a cup of coffee. The people in Cristesti keep on being surprised we can (and dare) to drink this without sugar. We only had time for a cup of coffee, afterwards we were being expected in the second service.
By car we drove to the other side of the village, a distance which would last at least 15-20 minutes on foot. When attending the second service, singing in Hungarian is getting more easy for us.

Welcome in the kitchen of the family Meleg

After the service, again we have the opportunity to meet members of the community, after which everybody is joining his or hers host family to stay there the remaining part of the day.
